Bratz Dolls are cherished by girls from all over the world. Created by MGA Entertainment, these dolls have pushed their way to the top of the doll scene! For a long long long time, Barbie was the only doll that really stuck in your head. Barbie was the best and there was no comparison...that is until Bratz dolls were created. Todays generation of little girls love both Bratz and Barbie dolls. They are both beautiful and totally fun to play with.

So what is it that makes the Bratz dolls just as popular as the legendary Barbie dolls? It could be their unique looks, their big faces with lots of makeup or their cute and trendy clothing. I think Barbie clothes are so classic looking, while the Bratz clothes are more trendy and hip. I guess todays young girls like the funky looks of the Bratz doll fashions.

Not only is it fun playing around with the Bratz fashions, but it's fun for girls to dress up their dolls too. They can mix and match bottoms, tops and accessories to come up with their own unique fashions. If you think about it, Bratz dolls really help girls have a sense of fashion. They take what they learn while playing with Bratz and use it to gain knowledge of their own clothing choices.

Bratz was created by toy designer Carter Bryant. In 2000, he met with Isaac Larian the CEO of Micro-Games America Entertainment (MGA Entertainment). There, Mr. Bryant presented his pictures to Mr. Larian, who found that the concept sketches enthralled his daughter, Jasmin, who was visiting the office at the time.

In June 2001, the first four Bratz dolls, Jade, Cloe, Sasha, and Yasmin, were released to market, each attired in urban-styled fashions. The Bratz quickly gained strong popularity, becoming the number one doll brand in several countries like France, Spain, Israel and Italy, and the number two doll in the United Kingdom. The dolls won Family Fun's Toy of the Year award and TIA People's Choice Toy of the Year Award for 2001. In 2005, the Bratz' fashion style moved away from urban-styled themes and towards more everyday styles. You would see new lines such as Hollywood Style, Play Sportz, Wild Wild West and Rock Angelz (70s rocker style), which was the Bratz flagship collection for that year.

Following the success of the Bratz Rock Angelz collection, MGA Entertainment released their flagship collection for 2006, Bratz Genie Magic. The collection included Cloe, Sasha, Jade, Meygan, and Yasmin dressed in extravagant and elaborate Moroccan/Egyptian/Bohemian-style fashions. Genie Magic would prove to be one of the biggest selling Bratz collections in the company's history.
In August 2006, MGA Entertainment released the kid version of Bratz Kidz and its platinum vintage Bratz collection, Bratz Forever Diamondz, which is one of the most expensive Bratz doll collections ever released with only one fashion. The characters featured in the Forever Diamondz collection are Jade, Cloe, Sasha,Yasmin, and a new character named Sharidan. Included with each doll in the Forever Diamondz collection is a diamond gem with a certificate of authentication. Also included with each doll in the collection is a code that girls enter on the Bratz official website, where they have a chance to win a one carat (200 mg) diamond.

On February 6, 2007 according to NPD Group, the Bratz became the #1 fashion themed dolls in the USA in the fourth Quarter of 2006.

The Bratz fun surely did not end with simple dolls to play with. Why stop there? More Bratz entertainment was created. From Bratz clothing and room decor, to Bratz video games and a full length movie, girls who love these dolls have so much fun to choose from.

Bratz: The Movie (or simply Bratz) is a live action feature film. The film was announced on May 15, 2006, when MGA Entertainment, Avi Arad Productions, and Crystal Sky Pictures teamed up. The shooting of the film was completed on March 24, 2007.

The movie is about four best friends (Jade, Cloe, Sasha and Yasmin) who are about to start High School. Although nervous, they feel excited and confident that they will excel. Head girl of the school, Meredith Baxter Dimly wants everyone to belong to a group (i.e. a clique), and goes about organizing people. She doesn't like the independent spirit of the four girls, and plots to destroy their friendship. Meredith eventually succeeds and the girls stop being friends. That is, until they realize they should all still be friends and become a group again. Check out the Bratz Music Videos page for songs from the motion picture and from your favorite artists.
Bratz: The Movie is also a video game which is not based on the actual Bratz movie. The game is about the what the Bratz experience in the glitz and glamour of becoming real movie stars and the fun of publishing the hottest magazine ever!

The Bratz franchise is quite huge and I'm sure it will continue to grow!
